I’m a Mechanical Engineering professional with strong experience in marine hydraulics, maintenance, and project coordination. Over the years, I’ve progressed from hands-on technical roles to supervisory and leadership positions.

I started my career with the Republic of Singapore Navy, where I worked as a Marine System Operator. There, I was involved in maintenance, repair, and overhaul of engines, transmissions, and power-pack systems. That role built my foundation in diagnostics, preventive maintenance, safety discipline, and technical documentation. It also gave me early leadership exposure, as I trained junior technicians and ensured operational readiness of critical systems.

After that, I moved into the private sector with Bertschi Singapore, where I handled pumps and motors used in chemical distribution systems. My responsibilities included troubleshooting, maintenance planning, safety compliance, and supporting logistics operations. This strengthened my understanding of safety management, risk assessments, and working in high-risk industrial environments.

I then joined ST Engineering, where I led a team in hydraulic pump and motor repairs. I was involved in dynamic testing, component inspection, flange management based on ASME standards, and client witness testing. That role sharpened my technical expertise in hydraulics and improved my ability to manage teams and interact directly with customers.

Following that, I took on a Service Engineer role at Anda Hydraulics, further deepening my experience in hydraulic troubleshooting and commissioning. Currently, I am working as a Senior Service Engineer at SG Asia Hydraulics. I lead end-to-end marine hydraulic servicing onboard vessels and in shipyards. I handle fault diagnosis such as pressure loss, cavitation, overheating, and leakage, and I perform complete overhauls of piston, gear, and vane pumps and motors. I also supervise technicians, coordinate with vessel superintendents and shipyards, prepare service documentation, and ensure all works comply with safety and permit-to-work systems.

In addition to technical roles, I also gained project management exposure as a Junior Project Manager at Synergy AVL, where I supported planning, scheduling, subcontractor coordination, authority submissions, and WSH compliance under ISO 45001 standards. That experience strengthened my understanding of project timelines, cost control, documentation, and stakeholder coordination.

Overall, my career reflects strong technical depth in hydraulics and mechanical systems, combined with leadership, safety compliance, and project coordination skills. I’m confident in both hands-on troubleshooting and managing teams to deliver results safely and efficiently.

In terms of education, I hold a qualification in Mechanical Engineering from ITE College Central, where I built a strong technical foundation in mechanical systems, assembly, maintenance, and engineering principles.

To strengthen my safety and compliance knowledge, I also completed the Manage Workplace Safety and Health in Construction Sites (CSCPM) certification, along with several WSQ certifications in Workplace Safety & Health, Emergency Response, and Work at Height. These qualifications support my ability to operate safely and manage compliance in both marine and construction environments.

Moving forward, I will be enrolling in part-time further studies to continue upskilling myself professionally. I strongly believe in continuous learning and want to deepen my knowledge to take on greater technical and leadership responsibilities in the future.
