Regine Leong

I am a Year 3 student studying Marketing in Temasek Polytechnic. I enjoy working while studying as I am constantly pushed to grow, and it also helps me to link what I experience during my shifts to the things I learn in school so that I can understand the different concepts better.

After I started working in the retail industry, I've grown to understand the importance in taking the initiative to research on the things that I sell so that I'm able to help customers make informed decisions for themselves. It also makes me confident enough to give them recommendations in their best interests.

I'll be taking on an office-based internship this coming September and until then, I would like to continue working in retail as I believe that there is so much more to learn.

I've taken up several part-time retail positions in bookstores, cosmetics, lifestyle goods and fashion stores since 2018. I've also taken up a short editorial internship position back in 2019 for a magazine firm as part of my secondary school's end-of-year work attachment programme. 

Currently, I am about to start my third year in Temasek Polytechnic and throughout my last 2 years, I've been lucky enough to work with companies like Zendle, Shopback Pay, Changi Pay, TRIA as well as Healthfull, to create effective campaigns with my groupmates as part of the big projects for each of our modules. This coming semester, I will be taking on my final year project before moving on to my internship in the second semester.

I was also part of my CCA's publicity team, starting off as a Subcommittee for Publicity, where I worked with our Head of Publicity to host a podcast as well as create social media content for the many events we planned and executed. Subsequently, after being promoted to Head of Public Relations, I oversaw communications with external vendors and potential collaborators like schools etc. as well as the CCA's welfare matters.
