About sarah sam:
As a proactive and outspoken learner, I love to learn new things every day. With my accumulated work experiences and the guidance and training, I am willing to give my utmost best in tasks given and in working with others. My passion in helping youths and personal experiences have influenced my goals and the path that I would partake in.With high empathy and resilience, I do see myself empowering the vulnerable together.
Experience
As a learner who is passionate in serving children, youths and women, I am excited to contribute to your organisation as a Social Work associate under your organization
Back in 2019, I received a grant to lead a mental health project in the National Youth Council’s (NYC) SG Youth Action Challenge. Through this experience, I planned and executed the project to increase mental health awareness and encourage help-seeking behaviour through sharing of relevant experiences and resources.
I am also part of NYC’s collective community, ‘Holler!’, where youths were selected to share views on policies and schemes that could impact Singaporeans. Through this, I had the opportunity to learn from and work with various government agencies to co-create solutions for Singaporeans.
In my current time as a Programme Associate at Montfort Care, I have been part of the Triple P Parenting Programme Team to empower parents in their parenting journey. As part of developing the team’s digital presence in the community, I educated and communicated with parents through visuals. On the family service centre side, I was part of the planning committee for groupwork targeted towards lower-income children and currently part of another one that targets primarily towards addressing intergenerational transmission of criminality among Youths.
With the eagerness to learn and my current knowledge from my part-time studies under Social Work Programme at Singapore University of Social Sciences, I am confident that I will be able to contribute to your organization to advocating for children, youths and the vulnerable
I would love to discuss further on how I can contribute to your organization. As such, I hope that you will consider a physical or virtual meeting with me.
Thank you and I look forward to hearing back from you.
