Shahira Hamzah

Currently, I am taking my master’s degree in strategic studies at the S. Rajaratnam School of International Studies part-time and I will graduate in the following year. In the previous trimester, I completed courses on National Security and Intelligence as well as the role of the cyber domain in conflict escalation. 

Prior to this, I worked in an education technology company, creating and vetting content at an international level. The main part of my job scope was to create and manage new products, leading teams within the department according to a roadmap that I initiated. I managed an international team of writers remotely to ensure content was appropriate for its demographic. I have strong leadership skills and possess the ability to adapt quickly to new situations and problems as I am solution-driven. My previous experiences have helped me develop strong analytical and communication skills.

Additionally, I have a bachelor’s degree with honours in Political Science from the National University of Singapore. Most importantly, I am passionate about public and private policies, and I am committed to making a positive impact in the organisations I work for. I am confident that the experiences and skills I have will enable me to be an asset to your organisation. 
 

As a part-time masters student interested in the technology sector and content policies in the online domain, I am looking to expand my experience and delve into my areas of interest. Given my background in Political Science, I have the ability to analyse, communicate and summarise conceptual arguments very well and my extensive experience with education and technology start-ups have given me the foundation to adapt to changes well and be solution-oriented towards challenges. 

Currently, I am pursuing my Masters in Strategic Studies at S. Rajaratnam School of International Studies, which deals with security concerns in the public and private sector. Given my experience in both sectors for over a decade and my experience in initiating and developing new products in the online sphere in previous tech companies, I believe I have the capacity to merge both of these interests in a trust & safety role.
