Sharlene Tan

I am currently a year 4 student in Singapore University of Social Sciences (SUSS), pursuing a degree in Finance with Minor in Information Technology. I graduated from Temasek Polytechnic with a Diploma in Biotechnology Sciences with an Elective in Bio Enterprise. I am on target to graduate in July 2023. 

During my recent internship as Finance intern with Tisch Global Corporate Advisory, I managed a portfolio of client accounts, prepared full sets of accounts and yearly financial statements demonstrating my finance knowledge. I performed and improved data migration process of accounting data into accounting software. I assisted clients with their business demonstrating good client communication skills. 

During my internship with Esco Aster, I developed a business proposal of a personalised bone bioreactor using my accumulated knowledge in biotechnology science and bio enterprise. I sourced for collaborations and explained complex concepts to potential clients. In view of the lean structure of the organisation, I was allowed to negotiate with business partners which has enhanced my technical and people management skills. 

As Captain of my school’s Volleyball team, I demonstrated high motivation and responsibility to lead and produce results. The mental and physical challenges developed my problem solving skills and self-confidence . Being an enthusiastic subcommittee member and having organised many events I am confident in executing a wide range of activities with my ability to learn and adapt quickly. In games and at work, I always perform out- perform individually and in teams.
