About Tan Charlotte-Jayne:

Charlotte-Jayne Tan is a Pharmaceutical Sciences Diploma and Biomedical Sciences Degree graduate, currently working as a Clinical Research Coordinator in National Cancer Centre Singapore. With her current knowledge and skills picked up from school and previous work experiences, she aspires to be of aid to and a part of future discoveries and inventions in the medical research industry. 
 

During her time in Republic Polytechnic and La Trobe University, she has picked up various laboratory skills essential for research and wishes to further build her laboratory skills in research laboratories. As a passionate and fast learner, she picks up new knowledge and skills quickly so that she can be of help as much as possible.

Clinical Research Coordinator- NCCS (September 2022-Present)
Clinical Trials and Epidemiological Sciences: Late Phase GI Trials

  • Screened patients for trials and took informed consent 
  • Handled administrative responsibilities required for clinical trials and liaised with trial sponsors 
  • Assisted Investigators with patient’s assessments, data collection and Case Report Forms. 
  • Prepared all documents required for monitoring by monitors and help prepare study site for audit. 
  • Ensured all SAEs are reported within the recommended time frame to the necessary authorities 
  • Ensure patients understand their responsibilities and interviewed patients for AEs and assessed patient’s compliance with study procedures and medications
  • Ensure proper collection, handling and delivery of study specimens 
  • Filed and maintained essential documents in ISFs and ensured security and retention of these documents as well as all other documents required by the study procedures
  • Resolved data queries and discrepancies 
  • Checked research account transactions to ensure accuracy and monitored expenses in accordance with agreed budgets 
  • Submitted protocols and amendments to IRB and MCRC

BACHELOR OF BIOMEDICAL SCIENCES- LA TROBE UNIVERSITY | 2021-2022

  • ADH activity assay using spectrophotometer and BSA standard
  • DNA Gel electrophoresis and SDS-PAGE
  • Cloning of 6-His tagged GFP in XL-1 Blue E. coli via PCR, restriction digestion, ligation and heat induced transformation
