About Wanyan Jiang:

As an avid reader who reads extensively and consistently, I make the human story my centre of understanding the world. I have learnt how every story has the potential to be universal when it is told well, and how people are flawed, complex beings with prides that can be wounded and hearts that can be touched. I practise seeing things from other people's perspectives, starting at home where I've begun to understand that while my father's habit of comparing me to other people hurts me very much and is not right, he comes from a genuine place of good intentions which is to push me to work harder and excel. I understand the ambiguity of people, and my empathy for others enables me to navigate human dynamics effectively. A willingness to overlook petty grievances while maintaining an awareness of how big a role that plays in human relationships can go a long way in getting things done.

With the dream of eventually becoming a published writer, I enjoy experimenting with various forms of writing, from poetry and screenwriting to social commentaries, literary fiction, and genre-benders. This has strengthened my versatility in writing and my ability to come up with innovative ideas.
