About Yee Von Lee:
I see myself as a meticulous, responsible, pro-active, dedicated and strategic person. My philosophy is: “action always speaks louder than words”, as it cost literally nothing to speak, people can always say whatever they want without regarding the truth or fulfilling their promises.
During my mid adolescence, I bid on the fact that the future prospect of Mandarin will be more vital and universal. Albeit never conduct Science in Mandarin before, I encourage myself to leave the comfort zone and pursue my bachelor degree in Taiwan alone. Owing to this experience, I became more independent and mature. The capabilities gained to cross reference English and Mandarin Scientific terms wasn’t easy, but a whole new world of knowledge got me offer to some Scientific translation jobs. I had the chance to expose myself on excellent magazines like Scientific American, National Geography, and Reader’s Digest in both English and Mandarin version, meanwhile, The Smithsonian, and The Scientist only available in English. It may be a time -consuming process somehow, but I do enjoy the great article especially those in Scientific American, which molded me into a reader with a more critical and comprehensive thinking.
I had been trained professionally in quality control, assurance and management of medical instruments and supplies, expertise in performing routine lab tests (hands-on or computerized) throughout my internship. Ranging from the simple routine chores which includes: preparation of common media, agar, specimens, database handling as well as troubleshooting to data analyzation and results interpretation. Before certified by the Taiwan Association of Medical Technologists as Medical Technologist(MT), we must passed the MT National Exams and go through training in various specialty including: Instrumental Analysis, Immunology and Serology, Blood Bank, Biochemistry, Histology and Pathology, Physiology, Hematology, Microbiology, Molecular Biology, Virology, and Microscopy. Throughout the comprehensive training, we become competent in handling patients’ samples, troubleshooting and issuing reports.
Whereas now I am working as research assistant in University of Malaya. I always seek for improvements, willing to learn and explore new things, while hoping to leverage my social responsibility. These are the reasons I want to apply for a position which can improve along with, satisfy my curiosity surplus impact the society positively.
