Ying Lim

A highly motivated Architecture and Sustainable Design graduate, passionate in designing and transforming the country’s landscape and skyline. Possesses strong organisational and technical drawing skills as well as the ability to conceptualise progressive ideas which continue to push boundaries for the future. A forward looking individual with outstanding communication, teamwork and ability to navigate in a global environment.

Over the years, I have been involved in a multitude of projects from macroscale, such as masterplanning for residential and aviation projects, to microscale, such as microhomes and furniture detailing, during my internships, studio projects and thesis. I have worked with various government agencies and other international bodies during my work and studies, coordinating and collaborating with each of them to bring my projects to new heights. For example, I have worked with URA and Temasek Foundation as a Design Innovation Consultant at the SUTD-MIT International Design Centre to plan, develop and curate Design Thinking workshops and international forums. I have also had conversations with NACO (Netherlands Airport Consultants) to receive feedback and share our expertise with one another on the future of airports and electric aviation during my Master of Architecture thesis. 

I have a Bachelor of Science (Architecture and Sustainable Design) and Master of Architecture degree from the Singapore University of Design and Technology (SUTD). I obtained an SUTD Asian Leadership Programme Scholarship during my Bachelor's and was also awarded 2nd place in the public voting for the school’s best final year capstone project. For my Master of Architecture thesis, I was one of the 5 students nominated for the Master of Architecture Award - Sustainability after rounds of faculty and external jury pitching.
