Zong Han Lee

I am currently a Final Year student at Singapore Management University. I specialise in Business Analytics and AI and aspire to become a data scientist.

Through school projects and internships, I have accumulated experience in many end-to-end data analytics projects, handling different types of data: numeric, image, time series and text (NLP). My most recent project is Maritime Risk Assessment at A*STAR, using text mining on past news events to help our industrial partner understand risks associated with certain ports and develop better countermeasures when planning sea routes.

Data Science Intern (Text Mining)
• Use of NLP and ML algorithms in the Maritime Management Industry, to group shipping ports into various risk categories based on recent incidents (e.g. prone to earthquakes) and help companies plan safer shipping routes
• Work will be published in 2 Research Papers later this year: Paper 1 by May 2023 and Paper 2 by July 2023

Final Year Project (Time Series Forecasting)           Aug 2022 – Dec 2022
• Built a demand forecasting system for Stemly, a SaaS platform offering AI-powered Optimisation solutions
• Used fuzzy matching to consolidate products with similar sales patterns to resolve issues with insufficient data
• Improved forecasting accuracy using Google’s SOTA Temporal Fusion Transformer, hyperparameter tuning, cyclical feature engineering and multi-step models to reduce error carried forward for autoregressive forecasting

Singhealth Polyclinics
Data Science Intern and Fullstack Developer        May 2021 – Aug 2021
• Built a healthcare application from scratch as part of the AI in Health Grand Challenge
• Used popular frameworks like Django, ChartJS and Jquery to create dynamic webpages based on user input
• Developed the backend patient similarity algorithm using Pandas, to predict the trajectory of a patient’s condition and recommend personalised treatment based on past data
