Business Function

Group Technology and Operations (T&O) enables and empowers the bank with an efficient, nimble and resilient infrastructure through a strategic focus on productivity, quality & control, technology, people capability and innovation.

In Group T&O, we manage the majority of the Bank's operational processes and inspire to delight our business partners through our multiple banking delivery channels.

Responsibilities
(1) Supervisory Role
- manages the day-to-day activities of the engineering teams as well as the management and execution of software development projects against delivery commitments and project plans
- is also in charge of the management of the department's staffing, resources, and mentoring, and maintaining a best-in-class engineering department spread across India and Singapore

Champion as a change agent and drive innovation for bestinclass Finance digital transformation
Drive architecture alignment via collaborating with Architecture and New Capabilities teams
Be able to go deep dive (hands on capabilities are must) on a need basis to find engineering/architectural gaps and provide solutions to overcome them

(2) Strategy

Drive building and rolling out "Well Architected" solutions in various projects.
Help moving teams in adopting new architectural patterns, not limited to streaming/datainmotion, serverless, etc.
Bring "product" thinking into all solutioning.

(3) Collaboration and Support

Collaborate and engage with technical leaders, functional leaders, business partners and Finance Management regionally to drive best in class solutioning for long‐term vision, strategic deliveries.
Work closely with central architecture and SRE teams to learn new products, architectures and practices. Drive these learnings in multiple projects within Finance.
Build relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
Continuously engage, motivate, and drive people and organizational agenda within team.

Requirements:

15+ years of handson experience working as an architect or a developer in data analytics and/or data engineering space.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Manage and build a team of developers and data engineers.
Strong problem solving skills (not limited to gaps analysis, engineering and architectural performance improvement) and ability to solve unstructured problem and challenge status quo.
Design and architecture experience in building data ingestion, data analytics and data consumption (via dashboards, Data as a Service).
Handson experience with Java, Spring, Spark and Scala.
Handson experience with Hadoop, MPP, relational databases (columnar and row) and inmemory cache.
Working knowledge with dashboard tools like Tableau/Qlikview is desirable.
Working knowledge of any public cloud service (AWS, Google or Azure) is desirable.
