The IT Project Specialist executes IT projects, supporting any IT staff who is leading a project. Staying within budget, deadline and scope is a contribution by this specialist. The project's success is directly contributed to by this specialist. All aspects of projects will involve this specialist, including the potential need for recommending suitable solutions. Specialist will help in coordination among project team members and stakeholders including external vendors. Makes sense of data to become information on reports for upper management regarding status of project and risks.Responsibilities:
Support leaders of IT project
- Coordinate among project team members and stakeholders including external vendors
- Includes appointment making for work sessions and decisionmaking meetings, ensuring agendas are set, and decisions captured, including any budget limits, deadline changes, scope adjustments.
- Reminding task owners tactfully and report on task progress factually.
- Be a key support to IT Project Managers.
- Demand Management needs to be supported with proposed projects being evaluated by relevant management for strength of business case, impact, and risk. Specialist will support in bringing attention to projects proposed, organize decisionmaking meetings for relevant management to make decisions, approving and prioritizing work. Specialist will record decisions and report status in regular reports. This is to ensure projects are all businessled, with demonstrable business value.
- Coordinate "Targeted IT Education" of Company staff, to coordinate and get content from relevant sources, including IT Function Leads. Then coordinate with HR team to deliver the content to relevant Company staff who will directly benefit from it.
- Support "Citizen IT" initiative. Coordinate communication and education of knowledge among Company staff who can automate and/or digitize their own area of work. Coordinate potential learning circles for Company staff and external partners to learn together.
- Support "Change management" especially where behavioral changes might be better initiated by demonstrating change in ourselves first. Leading by example.
- Collate, and even generate where possible, the minimum usable set of project documentation including, but not limited to, discussion spreadsheets, diagrams, process maps, proposals, project plans, requirements, presentation.
- Recording project progress by attending relevant project work sessions and meetings
recording key decisions and actionable tasks by who and by when, noting what resources are required for successful delivery of project.
- Reporting progress by updating IT management and creating relevant presentations for leaders of each project to present. Might even be tasked to present where suitable.
- Watch for and alert leaders of projects when potential risks are foreseen.
Qualifications Requires
- Degree in Computing Science,Information Technology orequivalent.
- Project Management Professional (PMP) / PRINCE II certification is a plus
