You will be responsible for the day-to-day operational aspects of database administration to meet the business needs and service level.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Lead and manage database changes through change request process & provide status reports to the relevant parties
- Provide 1st and 2nd level operational database support
- Assist and respond promptly to incident, investigate & provide temporary &/or permanent resolution of incidents escalated
- Provide timely status updates to relevant parties
- Monitor & measure the performance & availability of databases proactively; implement corrective actions identified to improve performance & availability
- Provide regular reporting to relevant parties as required
- Ensure service level meet requirement. Propose and implement action plan when required.
- Implementation of service continuity measures, i.e., backup/restore procedures & disaster recovery plan, to ensure continuous operation of the business.
- Keeping abreast of database technologies.
- Lead and provide technical advice to junior database administrators as required
REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor's degree in IT or equivalent
- Minimum 6 years of experience in database administration
- Experience either in Oracle, MSSQL, MySQL, Postgres or MongoDB
- Experienced in configuring, implementing, and maintaining databases including troubleshooting
- Able to do scripting for automation is a plus
- Able to provide prompt 24x7 support when necessary
- Has good stakeholder management skills
- A customer centric mindset
- Good written and verbal communication skills
- A good team player
