Position Title:
Manager, Programmes and Operations


Reports to:
Director of Finance & Operation


Major Functions:


In this newly created position of Programme Operation Manager, you will be responsible for establishing the team's capability and driving technological advancements for efficient programme tracking and reporting.

You will co-own the programme's financial performance and risk management, actively engaging in stakeholder discussions and reviews, and ensuring that our programme's objectives and progress are effectively communicated and understood by all parties involved.

In addition, you will oversee operational aspects of our programmes for Climate, Nature and Community, having a dotted reporting line to the Director of Conservation & Science.


Major Duties and Responsibilities:


The incumbent is responsible for:

Programme Management:


  • Monitor programme progress, and bring forward potential issues and possible solutions in collaboration with the project managers to the leadership team.
  • Refine Standard Operating Procedures(SOPs) for regional and local project evaluations, including guidelines for project review and approval process to facilitate consistent quality and accountability across all projects.

Operation and Financial Oversight:


  • Oversee financial and contractual support to Programmes;
  • Manage contracts, payments and reports and monitor their status;
  • Support programme teams with budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting, as well as collaborate with the fundraising team to identify funding resources and confirm allocation;
  • Work closely with Finance team to ensure that income and associated project costs are reported in accordance with accounting standards and in line with project progress.
  • Enhance the project dashboard to ensure a clear and comprehensive display of project progression, identify and highlight potential risks, and maintain a transparent overview of the financial resources allocated and utilized.

Team Development and Capability Building:


  • Provide mentorship and leadership to two support team members including the offshore Business Process Outsourcing team;
  • Act as the primary point of contact for programme management, representing Operation & Finance in interdepartmental meetings;

Operation system and process optimisation:


  • Participate in companywide projects, collaborate on initiatives, and drive continuous improvement to enhance overall program and operation efficiency in support of the organization's digital transformation
  • Provide support to the company's digital transformation initiative, ensuring the successful adoption of new technologies and processes.

Profile:


Required Qualifications:


  • A bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business Management or a relevant field.
  • At least 10 years of financial/programme management experience within an international organization, audit firm or charity with complex donor requirements.

Required Skills and Competencies:


  • Good knowledge of project accounting and programme operation management
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, data visualisation tools and comfortable working with large data sets. Experience in Tableau, ASANA would be an advantage
  • Selfstarter who is proactive and bias to drive action
  • Able to prioritise and operate under tight deadlines
  • Team player with strong communication and stakeholder management skills
  • An interest in conservation
