JOB DESCRIPTION:

  • Assist the technical director in the following areas:
  • Manage, oversee and coordinate the different technical functional roles to ensure that:
- routine operations run smoothly
- services rendered are timely and in line with objectives

  • Resources are used optimally
- procedural and governance guidelines/requirements are adhered to

  • Work with the Business Development team to fulfil users' requirements.
  • Plan for and implement enhancements to offerings and operations, including system upgrades and expansion of service offerings
  • Long term strategic planning for major upgrades or enhancements
  • Advice on technical matters related to supercomputing or peripheral issues

REQUIREMENTS:


  • Degree in computer science or a relevant scientific discipline. A postgraduate degree in computer science or a relevant scientific discipline is highly desirable.
  • A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in a similar environment if the applicant has a relevant postgraduate qualification or a minimum of 10 years of relevant experience in a similar environment.
  • Sound working knowledge of supercomputer operations and paradigms which may include, but are not limited to:
  • Parallel programming (MPI, OpenMP, etc.)
  • Job scheduling
  • Systems/storage architecture
  • GPU for HPC/ML
  • Containers
  • Machine learning frameworks
  • HPC software build tools including compilers, mathematical libraries, etc.
  • Competent in or familiar with periphery IT issues which may include, but are not limited to:
  • cloud computing and other web technologies
- networking
- cyber-security
