JOB SCOPE:


  • Manage marine industry skills and testing certification programmes
  • Manage existing ASMI Workplace Safety and Health (WSH) training needs for the industry at worker / supervisor level via the training portfolio.
  • Develop and implement skills development initiatives aligned with the Marine & Offshore Engineering (M&OE) Industry Transformation Map (ITM) work plan.
  • Promote, develop and implement WSH programmers for M&OE Industry aligned with the national WSH Council vision.

DUTIES:


  • Manage Industry Skills Certification Programmes
  • Manage, market and administer skills testing programmes for marine workers
  • Identify new skills testing requirements as necessary
  • Develop new skills standards and competencies as needed
  • Manage existing ASMI WSH training needs for the industry at worker / supervisor level via the training portfolio
  • Manage daytoday operations of WSH related training
  • Organize and coordinate training courses for industry
  • Identify skill gaps and organize or develop new training courses for industry for supervisor / worker level
  • Manage Skills Development initiatives aligned with the M&OE Industry Transformation Map (ITM) Work Plan
  • Identify training gaps and emerging skills for competency building of marine workforce, primary focused on the PMETs
  • Develop new training programmes and curricula to reskill and upskill workers in support of the future marine economy
  • Manage and market masterclasses and training workshops
  • Manage WSH Programmes
  • Implement WSH initiatives and programmes in alignment with the national WSH Council vision
  • Promote WSH innovations and productivity solutions to improve WSH at workplaces
  • Facilitate adoption of technology for WSH solutions
  • Manage and market WSH seminars and workshops
  • Manage ASMI WSH Committee
  • Others
  • Provide secretariat support to the ASMI Council and other committees/task forces
  • Support ASMI events and activities as required.
  • Undertake special projects and adhoc assignments as required by the Executive Director

REQUIREMENTS:


  • Minimum diploma qualification in any discipline
  • 2 years working experience preferred
  • Able to communicate effectively and respectfully with all stakeholders
  • Able to operate independently, and with different organisational teams
  • Meticulous, organised and able to operate within set timelines
