About the role


We are looking for a
Manager Compliance (Commercial) to support to the Rio Tinto Ethics and Integrity team deliver the Rio Tinto Integrity and Compliance Program across Rio Tinto's Singapore office, with a focus onour commercial business.


  • Rolling out Rio Tinto Compliance framework, including the Business Integrity Standard, Data Privacy Standard and Know Your Customer Standard.
  • Identifying and reporting on transgressions of and noncompliance with Group policies and procedures and international obligations and areas of risk.
  • Ensuring Rio Tinto's Compliance and Business Integrity Standards, Policies and Processes are understood, communicated and complied with: including ensuring staff online and face to face commitments are met
  • Monitoring and maintaining contractual integrity and compliance with approved standards
  • Overseeing the reviewal and verification of contractual trade documents executed by Marine
  • Supporting Group Ethics and Integrity with respect to compliancerelated projects
  • Reviewing and conducting compliance monitoring controls to provide assurance of proper operation of the compliance programme and implementation of its standards, and to support the business in driving improvements/resolutions.
  • Expected to work closely in a team environment with other team members in Group Ethics & Integrity as well as building relationships with stakeholders to understand their requirements and concerns.
  • Leading and coaching team member to achieve higher performances in alignment with their career motivations

About you

To be successfully considered for this role, you will have:

  • A Bachelor degree or similar professional qualification in the field of law, business administration, risk management, compliance or auditing
  • Experience in a compliance/controls function, especially in support to commercial functions
  • Agility and ability to think out of the box solutions, and operating at ease in a fluid and dynamic commercial driven environment
  • Relevant experience in performing general contract/business administration for a team or business unit
  • Worked with multiple stakeholders and management, who are across multiple regions and time zones
  • Proficient Microsoft Office Word, Excel, Project, Outlook, PowerPoint

It will also be beneficial if you have:

  • Prior exposure in a compliance role within commodities trading environment
  • Knowledge of mining and resources industry
