Job DescriptionThis role offers an opportunity to develop your commercial career and gain broad exposure in the Rice team.

Main Responsibilities

Working as part of a dynamic and multi-disciplinary team, the Junior Trader provides timely and relevant information for the trading activities of LDC Rice platform across the region and globally.

This role supports and works closely with the Regional Trader (S) in Singapore in all aspects for daily activity. Travel within the region will be required at times.

Key aspects of the role include:

Information gathering
Liaise with other offices/traders in the region
Keep regular contact with other market participants (Millers, Exporters, Traders, brokers) in the region
Keep on top of and report trade flows
Maintain production and surplus / deficit database
Trading
Purchase (sourcing) and Sale (marketing)
Position management
Monitor contract performance of counterparties
Manage market/price risk exposure

The role is commercially orientated and requires a strong knowledge of economic concepts with a particular focus on supply and demand analysis.

Experience

Bachelor's degree in relevant field of study
At least 2 years of experience
Knowledge in the development and use of Excel spreadsheets is desired.
Experience in the rice sector and/or other commodity markets would be an advantage
Knowledge of Supply & Demand factors, pricing trends and regulations affecting rice trade.
