Roles & Responsibilities

We are seeking a highly skilled and organized individual to join our team as an Assistant Purchasing Manager

Responsibilities:

Assist the Purchasing Manager in developing and implementing purchasing strategies to optimize inventory levels and meet production demands.
Conduct S&OP meetings to align sales forecasts with production plans and ensure adequate inventory levels.
Utilize ABC/XYZ analysis to categorize inventory items and prioritize purchasing activities based on demand patterns and criticality.
Monitor inventory levels and identify opportunities to improve inventory turnover and reduce holding costs.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Production, Sales, and Finance to ensure alignment of purchasing activities with business objectives.
Analyze supplier performance and negotiate contracts to secure favorable terms and pricing.
Oversee the procurement process from purchase requisition to delivery, ensuring timely and cost-effective purchasing.
Utilize SAP or similar ERP system to manage purchasing transactions, track inventory levels, and generate reports for analysis.
Stay informed about industry trends, market conditions, and emerging technologies to make informed purchasing decisions.
Provide leadership and guidance to purchasing staff, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and accountability.

Requirements:

Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or related field. Master's degree preferred.
Proficiency in Sales and Operations Planning (S&OP) processes and methodologies.
Experience with ABC/XYZ analysis and other inventory management techniques.
Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and make strategic recommendations.
Advanced proficiency in SAP or similar ERP systems.
Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with suppliers and internal stakeholders.
Proven track record of driving cost savings and process improvements in purchasing operations.
Ability to work effectively in a team environment and collaborate across departments.
Highly organized with strong attention to detail and the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
