Roles & Responsibilities

Program Coordinator, Allkin Senior Service

Established in 1978 as the pioneer family service centre in Singapore, Allkin Singapore (formerly AMKFSC Community Services) is a prominent community-oriented social organization that firmly believes in the potential of every individual to drive positive changes, irrespective of their age, ethnicity, or heritage.

Through our diverse service portfolio, strategic alliances, and grassroots movements, we create pathways for marginalized individuals and families to conquer life's hurdles, strive for a better tomorrow, and motivate others to do the same. Presently, Allkin offers support and companionship to a variety of communities including children, adolescents, families, and seniors at nearly 40 locations across Singapore.

Under the guidance of the Group Supervisor, the Program Coordinator / Community Connector (CC) is tasked with engaging seniors, the community, and partners to empower seniors in aging gracefully within their community.

Design and execute outreach efforts to promote awareness about center programs and services, and to recruit new seniors as center participants.
Conduct basic assessments to identify socially isolated seniors and those in need.
Collaborate with grassroots organizations, community partners, and service providers to establish a robust community network, including spearheading and coordinating community involvement initiatives.

Focusing on Active Ageing to promote dynamic living and independence among seniors.

Coordinate activities at the Eldercare center and external venues.
Collaborate with volunteers to develop engaging activities.
Empower seniors to actively participate as volunteers.

Engaging in Befriending and Buddying to combat social isolation.

Supervise volunteers delivering befriending/buddying services.
Establish relationships with seniors as a friendly companion.

Providing Care and Support to ensure seniors with specific needs receive appropriate assistance.

Offer information and referral services and follow up on referrals.
Engage in discussions with the case management team to ensure comprehensive support for clients.

Additional Responsibilities

Assist in volunteer management procedures, such as monitoring volunteer activities and hours, and maintaining a volunteer database.
Handle administrative tasks like data compilation and reporting for assessment and evaluation.
Undertake other assigned projects from supervisors/management.

Desired Skills and Competencies Technical Proficiencies:

Preferably GCE 'O' levels qualified, up to Diploma holders.
Proficient in IT.

Core Skills:

Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities for interaction with diverse groups.
Friendly and approachable demeanor.
Team player with the ability to work independently when needed.
A strong passion for empowering and upholding the dignity of seniors.

Desirable qualifications / attributes:

Proficiency in dialects would be beneficial as some seniors may only converse in dialects.
