    ROLE OVERVIEW:

    Reporting to the Director of International Recruitment, the Director Talent Acquisition, APAC, will be in charge of overseeing the APAC recruitment center, ensuring the sourcing, recruitment, and selection of top-notch talent. The role involves managing a budget of $5MM and supervising a team of around 80 Talent Acquisition professionals and contractors. Successfully delivering about 5,500 hires annually, which accounts for approximately 30% of the global recruitment volume. As a part of the International Talent Acquisition leadership team, you will contribute to broader strategic HR and business initiatives, including talent pipeline development, succession planning, digital recruitment capabilities, and diversity and inclusion.

    KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

    Strategic Leadership:

    • Develop and drive the APAC recruitment center strategy to ensure the sourcing, recruitment, and selection of high-caliber talent.
    • Establish, nurture, and lead internal recruiting teams, fostering a culture of high performance and a competitive mindset to surpass goals.
    • Collaborate with business leaders and HR Business Partners to evaluate current and future workforce planning and talent needs strategically.
    • Translate the global Talent Acquisition vision into actionable goals for the APAC recruitment center with a focus on putting Abbott first.
    • Proactively plan for the long term and strive for excellence in Talent Acquisition.
    • Inspire, motivate, and serve as a role model to colleagues and team members.
    • Effectively manage priorities, spot trends, and adjust strategies as needed.
    • Engage with stakeholders across various levels within Abbott to drive continuous transformation in the APAC talent acquisition function, delivering high-quality services, reducing costs, and improving speed and quality.
    • Act as a brand ambassador, positioning Abbott as a standout in talent acquisition and a preferred employer.
    • Collaborate with global TA practices to define and implement Talent strategies that drive business results.
    • Efficiently manage the workload of internal and external recruiters to ensure optimal hiring solutions and stakeholder satisfaction.

    Strategic Talent Acquisition Delivery:

    • Establish and communicate clear team goals and objectives within a centralized setting.
    • Implement best practices in APAC talent acquisition to provide innovative and cost-efficient solutions, enhancing Abbott's overall talent pool.
    • Contribute to the development of technology, digital, and marketing solutions aligned with business needs for increased productivity in APAC TA.
    • Lead the acquisition of key talent or critical projects personally.
    • Identify, implement, and monitor key recruiting performance metrics.
    • Oversee M&A activities as required.

    Partner (internal and external) Management and Direct Sourcing:

    • Proactively manage current partnerships to ensure service level agreements (SLAs) are met in terms of quality, responsiveness, and cost.
    • Enhance Partnerships to focus on customer and candidate experience, assessment quality, and ongoing sourcing capability improvement. Encourage direct sourcing excellence through Abbott's internal resources.
    • Encourage Partners to excel at each stage of the recruiting process.
    • Promote high engagement to enhance accountability, integrity, and performance.
    • Serve as a partner relationship manager (PRM) for strategic educational institutions to align with global early career and diversity recruiting efforts.


    EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

    • Bachelor's degree required.
    • 10+ years of experience in talent acquisition, leadership roles in a comparable sized and growing organization.
    • Experience leading teams in matrix organizations within a complex environment.
    • Full-cycle recruitment experience in Fortune 500 companies, including hiring up to DVP level.
    • Proven expertise in healthcare or related industries recruiting, with the ability to engage with competitor leadership to build a strategic talent pipeline.
    • Demonstrated success in implementing talent acquisition best practices for improved execution and operational efficiency.
    • Proficient in recruiting across all business functions and managing complex talent acquisition budgets.
    • Experience in multi-country talent acquisition.
