    Roles & Responsibilities

    As an Occupational Therapist (OT) specializing in oncology and palliative care, you play a crucial role in a diverse team within a medical center and home environment. Your main goal is to help clients enhance their physical and emotional well-being, regardless of their life expectancy. By conducting thorough assessments, identifying important life activities for clients, and addressing any obstacles they face, you enable them to achieve their maximum potential in daily tasks. Additionally, you will collaborate closely with patients' families and caregivers to ensure the successful implementation of therapy plans.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Assess patients' physical functions, daily living activities, and psychosocial needs
    • Identify and address cognitive challenges related to cancer that affect patients' daily tasks
    • Foster patients' abilities to accomplish their goals, considering available resources and support systems
    • Continuously monitor and adjust therapy plans to meet patients' evolving needs
    • Provide training on exercises and techniques to manage cancer-related impairments
    • Develop personalized strategies to facilitate patients' participation in various roles and activities
    • Support patients and their caregivers in coping with challenges
    • Lead decision-making on aids and devices to assist patients
    • Enhance palliative care by focusing on psychosocial well-being, social participation, and daily activities
    • Maintain detailed records of patients' progress
    • Ensure efficient delivery of services and manage clinical caseload
    • Participate in cancer rehabilitation initiatives and research projects
    • Conduct budgeting exercises
    • Assist in training and supervising other occupational therapists

    Key Requirements:

    • Minimum 5 years of experience
    • Occupational Therapy degree from a recognized university
    • Full registration with relevant health authorities
    • Experience in lymphedema drainage is a plus
    • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work collaboratively
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office
    • Knowledge of statistical analysis is beneficial
    • Fluency in multiple languages is preferred
    • Prior experience with cancer patients is advantageous
