The Chief Investment Office (CIO) within Group Treasury is a 45-person global team focused on managing the market risks inherent in the Group's Balance sheet.

The Singapore CIO team is responsible for the management of all Treasury activities of the Singapore Branch.

The team is focused on the effective management of balance sheet portfolio risks and investment activity whilst ensuring appropriate liquidity and funding settings in the Singapore Branch.


Do work that matters


As a Portfolio Manager - Singapore Treasury, You'll execute and implement strategies efficiently in money market, FX, credit, interest rate and derivative markets consistent with strategic portfolio objectives.


You'll work closely with the broader CIO team and have consistent engagement with a variety of internal stakeholders including IB&M, Funding and Liquidity, Analytics, Risk, Finance and Operations.


Your relevant market experience, risk mindset and analytical expertise will be an important addition to the team performance ensuring adherence with regulatory requirements and achievement of portfolio targets.


More specifically, you will:


  • Contribute to balance sheet risk management discussions and investment strategy to optimise portfolio earnings and deliver sustainable returns on capital.
  • Ensure CBA Singapore is liquid and prudently funded at all times, in line with all local regulatory requirements and CBA Group limits & Delegations.
  • Seamless interaction in relevant securities and derivative markets, delivering best execution outcomes consistent with desk strategy. You'll be expected to engage confidently in an array of OTC and listed markets while complying with the Group's limit framework.
  • Broad responsibility for a variety of desk reporting requirements including trade entry, position keeping and forecasting. Maintain desk tools and databases to ensure accurate and reliable data. Continually look to adapt process and tools to accommodate new products and processes. Develop strategies to streamline process in order to make meaningful productivity gains.
  • Deliver sophisticated analysis and content for management on all relevant issues including market themes, regulatory liquidity modelling, funding strategy, portfolio projections and investment strategy, performance, prudential changes etc.
  • Enhance desk analytics at both risk view and reporting level enabling clear and accurate real time risk positions as well as accurate granulation of profit and loss outcomes.
  • Liaise consistently with the global CIO team and broader Treasury to assist with a variety of Portfolio topics and Group Treasury requirements.
  • Ensure adherence to the Group Treasury framework and dealing delegations and all relevant compliance requirements.
  • Ensure business in consistent with the business strategy and Risk Appetite

We want

from you
if you
have:

  • Tertiary qualifications in a relevant discipline such as Finance, Economics or Maths. Postgraduate experience will be viewed favourably.
  • Min 4 years' experience in a marketfacing role with exposure to funding, securities and derivative markets. Treasury, Bank, Fund background is preferred.
  • Understanding of Bank funding and liquidity requirements for efficient balance sheet management
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to interpret large amounts of data.


  • Proven modelling skills

  • VBA, SQL, Python, and Tableau experience highly regarded.
  • System experience with Murex, Wall Street and Bloomberg.
  • Strong communication and business partnering skills.
