    Job Purpose

    BBC Studios is seeking a Senior Marketing Manager to lead the Integrated Marketing team for the Ad sales group of BBC Global Media & Streaming division in APAC. This role will lead a team in developing and delivering go to market messaging to position the BBC Ad Sales proposition as best in class to a wide spectrum of advertising clients and partners across BBC owned platforms, including , BBC News (TV), BBC Earth , Top Gear, BBC World Service Languages, and BBC social media.

    As the team leader for Integrated Marketing (IM) in the APAC region, you will be a key player in developing and executing the go-to-market (G2M) messaging strategy for BBC Studios Ad Sales and content partnerships. This role sits at the intersection of B2B customer marketing, audience insights, key account pitch development, product and content marketing, and campaign measurement and reporting. Your primary goal is to strengthen the Ad Sales group's commercial capabilities, elevate the profile of BBC Global Media & Streaming (GM&S), and drive growth in APAC advertising revenues and profitability. Reporting to the VP of Integrated Marketing and BBC StoryWorks, APAC, this influential, hands-on role is instrumental in shaping the future of the BBC Studios Ad Sales group commercial performance and reputation in the region.

    Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities

    Integrated Marketing Framework:

  • Develop a targeted B2B digital marketing strategy for frequent and consistent communication.
  • This will include creating and executing a roadmap for a comprehensive B2B digital marketing plan covering Product, Content, Audiences, Market Research Insights, Campaign Effectiveness Case Studies, and Sales Initiatives. Develop innovative marketing solutions and differentiate the BBC's advertising offerings in a competitive marketplace resulting in increased engagement, lead generation, and qualified pitch opportunities.
  • Work in partnership with the global IM Centre of Excellence (CoE, New York) to adapt and create core go-to-market (GTM) messaging reflecting regional APAC nuances and audiences.
  • Audience Insights and Market Research:

  • Work with Market Research as an integrated team to create effective systems and operations for day to day audience insights workflows for business development, sales pitches and client workshops.
  • Support Market Research in developing presentations and marketing support plans for key Research/Insights output.
  • Team Management:

    Management of two direct reports with dotted line responsibility for Market Research team. Two direct reports include:

  • Marketing Manager focused on supporting the execution of GTM strategic plan and delivery of all output.
  • Presentation/Proposition designer focused on materials preparation and developing visual excellence for communication into the Ad Sales market.
  • Financial Management

  • Develop and propose yearly budgets required for execution of GTM plan.
  • Ensure all plans are achieved within budget.
  • Work closely with APAC sales leadership to ensure all executions and materials are working to achieve regional targets.
  • Communication and Business Culture

  • Responsible for communication within the team and with external team stakeholders, ensuring that key messages are communicated in a timely and appropriate manner.
  • Work closely with presentation designer and external agencies, briefing them effectively to produce the required material.
  • Contribute to the development, realisation and evaluation of broader company and department initiatives.
  • Be a role model within the business, ensuring effective recruitment, appraisal, training, development, and communication processes are in place which meets or exceeds BBC standards.
  • Be aware of and operate within the relevant company policies.
  • Be aware of safety responsibilities and actively seek information and participate in appropriate training. To provide appropriate information and ensure suitable training to other staff.
  • Constantly strive towards improvement in our output/ performance on a team and individual basis.

  • Knowledge, Skills, Training & Experience

  • 10 years experience with integrated marketing in a sales/trade environment.
  • Familiarity with the advertising sales process is crucial for effectively developing messaging that resonates with clients including knowledge of client needs and industry trends.
  • Ability to collaborate closely with editorial teams to understand content priorities, audience demographics, and editorial guidelines, ensuring that marketing messaging aligns with editorial standards and resonates with target audiences.
  • Proven track record of developing and executing successful go-to-market strategies, including identifying target audiences, crafting compelling messaging, and coordinating cross-functional teams to deliver integrated marketing campaigns.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and experience in managing client relationships, including the ability to understand customer objectives, address concerns, and provide strategic recommendations to drive commercial success.
  • Proficiency in utilizing data analytics and market research to inform marketing decisions, optimize campaign performance, and measure the effectiveness of go-to-market strategies.
  • Excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, prioritize tasks effectively, and meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong teamwork and communication skills, with experience collaborating cross-functionally with internal teams such as sales, product development, and content production to align on marketing objectives and deliver cohesive messaging.
  • A deep understanding of the media and advertising industry landscape, including emerging trends, competitor analysis, and regulatory considerations, to anticipate market shifts and capitalize on opportunities.
  • Previous experience leading and mentoring marketing teams, providing guidance, and fostering a collaborative and innovative work culture.
  • A commitment to staying updated on the latest marketing trends, technologies, and best practices through ongoing professional development and industry networking.
