Location: Japan, Singapore, Malaysia or Taiwan

Job Responsibilities:

Lead and further develop the engineering department internationally.

Ensure that the engineering team designs and engineers solar, battery, wind and hybrid energy systems that fulfill technical, commercial, regulatory, and legal requirements.

Drive a culture of WHSEQ awareness and safety in design across the business.

Ensure seamless interaction between the engineering team and investment and transaction teams, procurement, project development, project management, construction, and asset management regionally.

Develop and deliver technical solutions that maximise commercial value of assets without compromising safety, quality, and security.

Develop and maintain standards and templates for technical due diligence, site assessments, and the technical aspects of scope of works, employers' requirements, and other technical documents.

Lead engineering and technology aspects and assessment in technology, product, and supplier assessments.

Lead the engineering and technology content and assessment in EOI, RFI/RFP and contracting processes.

Track and identify emerging technologies that could benefit the business.

Ensure technical owner's requirements are fulfilled in contracts, engineering and construction and that designs, construction and as built drawings are verified.

Assess and manage consultants, contractors, and advisors for engineering and technical topics.

Agree, populate, and maintain an organizational structure that supports the mission in each country in which we operate.

Identify, develop, and maintain systems to automate and streamline design and engineering to maximize efficiency and effectiveness.

Identify, develop, and maintain tools, software and systems for automated design optimization.

Lead a culture of innovation, continuous improvement and learning within the engineering team.

Align with internal and external parties on technology developments and implement those in the daily engineering works.

Build a network of trusted and capable design partners and work with the commercial team to screen, procure and onboard them on to projects to manage workload and provide expertise as required.

Oversee performance of external engineering, design, and technical parties against their contract requirements

Forecast resource requirements for engineering and design based on pipeline information and submit timely requests for additional resources if required.

Develop internal processes and tools and coach the engineering team to use them to provide efficient and transparent integration of designs into the project cycle.
