JOB PURPOSE:

To support the BAU processes for Treasury Operations and manage the risk associated with operations activities for Global Market.

Primarily responsible for managing the daily BAU operation of Treasury Operations

Support head of operations to work with stakeholders to implement operational controls, workflows, system and transformation strategy per Group standards and regulatory requirements based on the remit of operations.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:

Team/ BAU Management:

This role is to manage the Treasury Operations team supporting Singapore, Labuan and China, ensuring that the team delivers on the BAU responsibilities efficiently and in a controlled environment.

BAU processes include the following:

Ensure all transactions by Global Market(GM) department are booked accurately, processed and settled in a timely manner

Liaise with other departments in the branch (e.g. operations, finance and accounts payment) on the cashflow reporting. Check and reconcile bank's cash position daily and liaise with reconciliation department for break resolution.

Monitoring of transactions and liaise with customers/correspondent banks where necessary to ensure smooth processing and completion of all transactions

Investigate and resolve any Intersystem or nostro Reconcilation breaks

Ensure all regulatory reporting (e.g. OTC Derivatives) are submitted as per Central Bank guidelines.

This role is expected to be the subject matter expert on the processing of a wide range of Global Market (GM) products, including FX/MM/Derivative/Options/Bonds/Securities.

The role is the first point of contact for resolution of all transaction processing problems/issues including Cash Management.

Requires the incumbent to be actively collaborate with Technology and Business partners in all change management activities for GM Ops, where expected to contribute, analyse, review and recommend best practices relating to processing activities of all GM products.

Incumbent is expected to monitor and control operational risk throughout the transaction processing life cycle on all GM products

Ensure that processes are regularly reviewed and improved for timeliness, quality and cost effectiveness

Manage and supervise team members to ensure the BAU runs smoothly and is adhering to the department procedures

Risk & Controls

Maintain and implement effective controls over the processes in Treasury Operations, highlighting areas of concerns for remediation and ensuring strict compliance to regulations, policies, and guidelines.

Taking a lead to review the Operating Procedures and workflows in the team, ensuring processes and documents are reviewed regularly and changes to processes are updated and documented.

Support the team in all audit engagements, ensuring that audit's requests are clear and supported effectively, issues highlighted are investigated and responded to swiftly and where necessary are escalated for effective management.

Participate in and plan for the team's Business Continuity Planning.

Stakeholder Management

Be the key liaison point for the Business (Product Heads, RMs, HQ, etc.) to manage Business and Client requirements and translating these to support capabilities.

Communicate constantly with relevant business units and be updated of market trends and individual customer's needs.

Qualifications

Minimum 7 years of relevant working experience in Treasury Operations, preferably with reputable financial institutions.

Strong knowledge across Global Market products (FX/MM, Bonds, Derivatives, Options etc.)

Prior experience in establishing new controls and set up would be an added advantage;

University degrees will be an advantage

Strong awareness of MAS guidelines and other regulatory requirements relevant to Global Market.

Cross product exposure and working experience would be a plus

Knowledge of MEPS+ system would be a plus

Skills :
