    Roles & Responsibilities

    Overview

    • The Business Development Manager is instrumental in driving sales initiatives within a specific geographical area. This role is primarily responsible for seeking out and securing new business opportunities and customers for the organization. Additionally, it involves leading customer engagement efforts, preparing proposals, and executing strategies to enhance revenue, volumes, and gross profit. The Business Development Manager also collaborates with management to formulate sales plans and strategies as necessary.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Proactively identify and pursue new business opportunities to expand the organization's customer base.
    • Foster growth by cultivating and maintaining relationships with existing customers.
    • Take the lead in preparing and presenting quotations and proposals to potential customers.
    • Meet sales targets and contribute to revenue and profit growth.
    • Implement effective business development strategies to capitalize on market opportunities.
    • Provide support in developing sales plans and strategies when required.
    • Collaborate with product teams to secure competitive rates for customer proposals.
    • Analyze customer performance and initiate necessary actions to drive improvement.
    • Support regional or global account growth as needed.

    Secondary Responsibilities:

    • Collaborate with leadership and stakeholders to implement sales initiatives effectively.
    • Participate in tender processes as and when required.
    • Manage internal stakeholder relationships positively.
    • Contribute ideas for process enhancements.
    • Undertake any other assigned tasks from superiors.

    Job Requirements:

    • Bachelor's degree or equivalent qualification.
    • Certification in Logistics and/or Supply Chain is advantageous.
    • More than 5 years of experience in customer-facing roles within freight forwarding, shipping, air cargo, or related industries.
    • Sound understanding of freight forwarding and logistics operations.
    • Track record of successful sales development.
    • Demonstrates initiative, independence, and adaptability in a dynamic environment.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
    • Strong interpersonal, communication, and negotiation skills.
    • Upholds high levels of integrity and ethical conduct.
    • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
    • Self-motivated and capable of working autonomously.
    • Possesses a positive team player attitude.
