Job Description

The successful candidate will join the technical services department in SIA Engineering Division. He/she will work with a team of e-Operations engineers in Technical Services Department to ensure the safe and reliable e-operations onboard SIA's latest fleet of aircraft

Key Responsibilities

Implementing and administrating the aircraft-to-ground IT communications infrastructure for operational (flight, cabin and maintenance) crew use, collectively called e-enabled systems. Aircraft applications using this e-enabled system include Electronic Flight Bag (EFB), Electronic Log Book (ELB) and maintenance data offloads

Development and support of ELB applications for cockpit and cabin, and management of equipment/portable devices hosting these applications

Ensuring availability of the EFB & ELB applications to reduce flight disruptions

Managing the resolution of EFB & ELB related problems in any of these areas: Onboard applications, Ground software, Air-to-ground communications software, portable devices

System administration of the e-enabled systems, including management of security certificate generation and updates, access controls, system upgrades

Aircraft network security administrator for the e-enabled system, ensuring compliance of the management processes, equipment and maintenance providers to the OEM/airworthiness authorities' network security requirements

Supporting setup of for new aircraft at delivery from OEM

Setup of e-enabled infrastructure (onboard configuration, communication links between aircraft and ground, and ground systems) for new aircraft fleets

Implementation of new EFB & ELB, network security requirements and other e-enabled products

Reviewing and improving e-enabled operational processes, and company-developed ELB applications

Requirements

Possess a University Bachelor's Degree in IT or Electronics Engineering or any discipline related to either IT or Electronics Engineering

Preferably have at least 3 years of project management experience. Experience in the aviation industry, especially e-enabled systems and IT security will be an asset

Be able to work independently and also a good team member. Since the job requires interaction with various user departments, good interpersonal skills will be necessary

Be able to analyze, diagnose a problem and provide an effective solution

Be able to supervise staff under his charge with clear instructions on the work assignment

Be prepared to work extended hours to resolve operational problems related to EFB, ELB & e-enabled system
