About the Role


Responsible for the internal controls over financial reporting, balance sheet reconciliation review, and ensuring proper governance within the Finance function through risk assessment exercise and setting of relevant controls.

(1) Internal Control over Financial Reporting (ICFR)

  • Manage periodic financial controls selfassessments on ICFR of all Singapore financial reporting entities.
  • Assist process owners / stakeholders in identifying risk and control for internal control for reporting, as well as areas of improvement.
  • Manage ICFR audit, including participate in walkthrough session with process owners before commencement of ICFR audit.
  • Assist process owners / stakeholders in finalizing audit issue, including management action plans.
  • Manage adhoc projects rolled out by Group, including adoption of new risks and controls framework for ICFR, implementation of system for financial controls selfassessments.
(2) Balance Sheet Reconciliation

  • Perform the review of balance sheet reconciliations review to ensure balance sheet accounts are supported with appropriate documents for all reporting entities in Singapore.
  • Monitor and suggest resolutions where possible to ensure long outstanding exposure items are progressively resolved/addressed by process owners.
  • Manage process improvements to shorten the overall turnaround time for balance sheet reconciliations preparation and review.
  • Manage to strengthen the department knowledge on BSR
(3) Financial Closing Certification

  • Manage the quarter financial certification process to ensure all activities required for financial closing certification are signed off within the stipulated timeline given.
  • Highlight noncompliance issues to Management in a timely manner.
(4) Proper Governance

  • Review and perform gap analysis of the internal processes which has financial impact to identify potential operational or financial risks.
  • Manage the setting policies or controls to close the identified controls gaps.
  • Manage the internal control / gap assessments to ensure process is in compliance to set Policies, regulatory requirements, etc.
  • Oversee and provide support to Finance teams on the operational risks and controls selfassessments.
  • Manage other adhoc tasks, including special review or investigations to identify areas of improvement and address control gaps.
  • Lead the risk and control / compliance champion role for Finance department to provide updates to / drive awareness of the Finance colleagues in compliance to regulatory, etc requirements.
  • Drive other adhoc governance related activities, including but not limited to third party due diligence, etc.
