Duties

As a IT CYBERSECURITY SPECIALIST, you will:

Serve as an expert in cyber threat hunting and digital investigations.

Apply diverse digital forensics and related methodologies in both proactive and reactive scenarios to detect, analyze, and document activities detrimental to enterprise cybersecurity with a primary focus on advanced threat actors and insider threats.

Keep abreast of developments in the cybersecurity field, including new investigative techniques, artifacts, significant vulnerabilities affecting technology in use at the agency, and intelligence detailing cyber adversaries' tactics, tooling, and operational objectives for compromising enterprise infrastructure or targeting public health entities and scientific research of interest to the CDC.

Incorporate available threat intelligence, re-incorporate insights gained from previous engagements, and share newly developed threat actor operational techniques or indicators of compromise derived from threat-hunting activities with the Cyber Threat Intelligence Team, the Cybersecurity Incident Response Team (CSIRT), and other stakeholders, as needed, which could entail entering information into a threat intelligence platform or similar aggregator.
