Role Overview


As part of the Group Reporting team, you will provide technical accounting (IFRS) to various stakeholders across the regions, including Lending and Sectors (Energy, Commodities Food & Agri, Financial Institutions, Real Estate & Infrastructure, Telecom Media Tech & Healthcare, Diversified Corporates and Transportation Logistics & Automotive), Financial Markets, Finance, Tax and others.

You will also be managing new product on boarding process from finance's perspective for the region, including accounting treatment implication assessment, coordinating clearance from relevant stakeholders and participating testing in financial reporting system.

You are strongly result-oriented and have sound knowledge on IFRS and experience in financial sector.

You are detailed orientated yet capable of approaching issues from both analytical and strategic perspective and then come up with concrete solutions that are practical to implement.

You are independent, like to work on multiple tasks and can pro-actively manage multiple stakeholders.


Responsibilities:


  • Provide technical accounting advice to other departments, including business, with regards to accounting for financial products and structures
  • Represent finance in new product implementation, representing finance in the new products process, gathering feedback and ensuring all of finance are aligned with new product booking
  • Execute on change in IFRS, new products or structures, analyse and work with colleagues in putting through accounting changes
  • Communicate IFRS / accounting requirements to various stakeholders to ensure that accounting policies are consistently applied across the bank and in the region
  • Knowledge of Hedge Accounting and able to partner business to explore new structures
  • Participate in projects locally or initiated by group to standardise and enhance the efficiency of financial reporting
  • Provide training to various stakeholders on accounting topics
  • Identifying, monitoring, and participating at local and international level in new developments regarding financial reporting by, financial institutions, particularly with respect to IFRS

You possess sound product and technical IFRS knowledge, with superb business acumen and communication skills to help the business and its stakeholders understand the financial impact and reporting requirement that applicable to their products.

You are flexible in delivering routine and ad-hoc requests and have strong communication skills.

In addition, you have:

  • Minimum 5 years of relevant working experience, preferably with accounting advisory or new product onboarding background.
  • Strong product and IFRS knowledge is essential. Knowledge of local regulatory reporting requirements (MAS) would be advantageous.
  • Strong analytical, problem solving, project management skills with demonstrated proficiency in managing multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Strong team player, selfstarter and motivator, capable of working independently with mínimal supervision.
  • Proven ability to build strong relationships and collaborate across a crossfunctional team and influence senior leaders.
  • Strong English written and oral communication skills with proven success in influencing business decisions.
  • Proficiency in MS Excel. Excel Macro and PowerBI working knowledge would be advantageous.
