Responsibilities:
Financial Record Keeping
- Assist in maintaining accurate and uptodate financial records, including invoices, receipts, and other financial documentation.
- Ensure proper filing and organization of financial records for easy retrieval and reference.
- Support the finance team in data entry and updating financial databases or systems.
- Assist in processing payments to vendors, contractors, and service providers, ensuring accuracy and adherence to payment schedules.
- Assist in managing accounts receivable, including tracking donations, issuing receipts, and coordinating with donors or members for outstanding payments.
- Help with bank reconciliation by matching financial records with bank statements.
- Assist in monitoring and reconciling expense reports and receipts submitted.
- Verify the accuracy and completeness of expense documentation and ensure adherence to the temple's financial policies and procedures.
- Collaborate with the finance team to resolve any discrepancies or issues related to expenses.
- Assist in the preparation of financial reports, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
- Support generating financial reports or statements for review by senior management and the temple's governing body.
- Help collect and compile financial data for internal and external reporting purposes.
- Provide general administrative support to the finance team, including scheduling meetings, maintaining calendars, and organizing financial documents.
- Assist in managing correspondence and communicationrelated to financial matters, both internally and externally.
- Contribute to the maintenance and organization of financial files, documents, and records.
- Ensure compliance with financial regulations, tax laws, and reporting requirements applicable to the temple.
- Support the finance team in preparing necessary documentation or reports for audits or government agencies as needed.
Qualifications:
- Diploma or equivalent; additional education or training in finance or accounting is a plus.
- Prior experience in a finance or accounting role is preferred.
- Basic understanding of financial principles, practices, and terminology.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and record keeping.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Effective communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
- Willing to work on weekends and public holidays when required.
