About the role
McConnell Dowell is seeking a Design Engineer in Singapore to support civil structural work for marine works projects.
-
Key responsibilities of the role include;

Coordinate with external engineering consultants for projects in accordance with Design Management Procedures to solve various design/construction issues.
Develop shop drawings for permanent works based on consultants' designs and drawings. Experience in coordination with construction teams to prepare concrete body plans.
Carry out design checks in accordance with the project's appropriate requirements when needed.
Ensure the use of the latest documents/drawings. Track submission drawings, DAR submissions, and design changes.
Identify safety and environmental hazards that may arise during the fabrication, installation, and use of temporary works.
Provide feedback to the project personnel on construction details. Provide drawing and technical documentation as required.
Direct and supervise CAD draftspersons as required in the performance of these roles and responsibilities.
Provides all activities in such a manner to ensure a safe working environment.
Any other duties as may be required by the Company.

About You
To be considered for this role, you will have- Degree in Civil Engineering or related discipline.

35 years of design engineering experience in civil structural works.
Demonstrated capability in developing innovative concepts for solving technical, complex issues.
Competent understanding of Singapore and International codes and standards.
Relevant experience in Authorities submission.
Competent in the use of MS Office and AutoCAD.
Working knowledge of engineering software, e.g., Staad Pro, Plaxis.
Able to work on alternate 6 days week and onsite at Changi East.
Transport pickup at Tanah Merah.
