Key Accountabilities:

This is a 1 Year Contract Role,

  • Maintain and develop good knowledge of classification and labelling (GHS), country inventory and material registration.
  • Create and maintain raw materials data into systems in a timely and accurate way.
  • Question validity, verify accuracy of data and seek advice to maintain raw material/substance properties in PV and SAP EH&S ensuring compliance to regulatory and company policies.
  • Conduct national inventory reviews, and company procedure reviews such as for the Priority Substance program.
  • Understand the importance of consistent data management across the various platforms including connectivity with the business processes and creates plans for improvement where relevant.
  • Raw material (SDS/TDS/Regulatory) documents management, and keep documents up to date.
  • Respond to internal customers and resolve raw material and/or product issues accurately and in a timely fashion.
  • Provide guidance to assure compliance for AkzoNobel raw materials and products.
  • Communicate effectively both internally (other departments) and externally (Customers, regulators, suppliers, trade associations)
  • Contribute to cross functional project teams as required
  • Develop a basic understanding of markets, customer needs and relevant regulatory topics affecting the business
  • Support the impact assessment on classification changes to products and communicating to the business. Assist to Identify potential noncompliances and areas of risk to the business, and contribute to improvement plans.

Experience:


  • University Degree or equivalent in Scientific discipline
  • Organized and a strong attention to detail
  • Fluent written and spoken English, fluent in local language(s)
  • Good interpersonal skills, working well as part of a team (essential)
  • Ability to understand and interpret complex information and make informed decisions based on that material (essential)
  • Ability to produce clear and comprehensive reports and make recommendations using the available data (essential).
- min 2 years relevant experience (desirable)

  • Background in product regulations, hazard communication and product stewardship (desirable)
  • Experience of working in an industrial environment (desirable)
  • Experience of working within the framework of a quality management system (eg ISO 9001:2008) (desirable)
  • Good literacy and numeracy skills (essential).
  • Competence in the use of Microsoft Office (essential).
  • Experience working with ProductVision software/ SAPSaturn.(desirable)
  • Working understanding of applicable Chemical/Product Regulations (essential).
  • An inquisitive nature and commitment to understanding the needs of SMUs and customers (essential).
