Head of Marine, Singapore

What the day will look like
- Lead the Singapore Marine Retail Team, including all financial, operational and personnel processes
- Actively drive budgeting, forecasting and pipeline management to achieve financial goals
- Drive team engagement and manage the colleagues within the Singapore Marine Retail team
- Drive or be involved in key clients and prospects of the Singapore Marine Retail team
- Drive or assist the negotiation and placement of insurance/reinsurance contracts, producing desktop & market quotations and lead terms, for key clients and prospects
- Partner with Aon resources (Sales & Marketing, Specialty Team, GBC and inCountry teams) to deliver the widest practical range of insurance solutions and services to client.
- Interface with the market and to secure optimum outcome for client risk coverage
- Drive thought leadership content for our clients and markets, and demonstrate understanding and insight into the industry, clients, risks and solutions
- Contribute to up to date marketing materials on carrier appetite and solutions available to Marine clients
- Ensure knowledge and best practice approaches are captured, documented and shared to ensure resiliency in the broking function for the Specialty
- Responsibility to ensure that all broking / placement activity within the team is in compliance with MAS regulations and Aon Company Policy and Guidelines
Skills and experience that will lead to success
- At least 10 years of experience within the insurance industry
- Minimum requirement (BCP, PGI, CommGI) for registration with MAS or such similar qualification acceptable to MAS
- Strong technical skills around insurance policy interpretation and drafting and/or Marine Risk
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to forge strong relationships with country and specialty colleagues as well as clients and insurers
- Selfdisciplined, organized, with attention to detail and ability to prioritise
