About the role


The Compliance Analyst role will be based in Singapore within the Risk and Compliance Team partnering closely with the Global Risk and Compliance team and line of business in Asia.

The Risk and Compliance function within abrdn is responsible for ensuring effective and adequate compliance to the respective local regulatory framework in countries where abrdn operates in.

Reporting to the APAC Investment Regulations and Monitoring & Oversight Lead, you will be responsible for assisting the team in the planning, execution and reporting of Monitoring and Oversight reviews as well as assisting in issues management and ad-hoc reporting where required.


Key Responsibilities- To support the planning, execution and reporting of compliance monitoring reviews which include, walk-throughs with the line of business, testing and documentation of results, engagement with stakeholders and senior management within the business.- Issue Management - Assist to track and validate issue life cycle events including follow-up with stakeholders, validation and closure.- Keep abreast of the evolving regulatory developments, landscape and industry best practices.- To develop strong relationships with the business, including first, second and third line, whilst reinforcing the importance of 'three lines of defence' model.- Identify and utilize data analytics to improve effectiveness of reviews.- Assist to perform and collate ad-hoc reporting requirements were applicable.


Key Requirements- A bachelor's degree in Accountancy, Risk Management, Finance or Economics related discipline- A minimum of 2-4 years' experience in compliance, internal / external audit within an international financial services or asset management organisation- Thorough understanding of internal control concepts and methodology with the ability to evaluate and determine the adequacy and effectiveness of controls.- Proven experience in working effectively in a matrix organisation with the ability to participate in multiple projects / reviews concurrently.- Effective verbal and written communication skills with the ability to present complex and sensitive issues to senior management.- Ability to influence and impact change.- Proven ability to be able to complete project / assignments on-time and adjust to changing priorities.- Experience in automation / data analytics (preferred)- Ability to adapt and navigate changes in a rapidly dynamic environment.
