    Roles & Responsibilities

    The Wallenberg-NTU Postdoctoral Fellowship is to bring outstanding young researchers, who have graduated from a Swedish university, to NTU for two years of postdoctoral research and studies. The Postdoctoral Fellows are given the opportunity to participate in a broad range of interdisciplinary activities and programs that characterize NTU's approach to research and education.

    This research project will develop cheap and rapid microfluidic systems for microbiome analysis.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • The design and fabrication of microfluidic chips.
    • Establishment of the microfluidic platform.
    • Collection and staining of microbial and cell samples.
    • Image acquisition and development of image recognition algorithms and data processing procedures based on image analysis software.
    • Microbiome analysis of intestinal flora.
    • Personalized dietary screening for autism spectrum disorder.
    • The verification of the abnormal microbial pathogenicity hypothesis.
    • Perform in vivo and in vitro preclinical evaluation experiments.
    • To work with PhD and other research staff to solve different problems.
    • Drafting and submission of technical progress reports at regular intervals.
    • Presenting of research progress and latest findings at regular intervals.

    Job Requirements:

    • Graduated with a PhD degree related to Microfluidic, Engineering, Materials Science, or Biomedicine from a Swedish university not more than 4 years at the application date
    • Experience using fluorescence microscopy.
    • Strong experimental skills, including design, measurement, and data processing.
    • Experience in designing and using microfluidic devices for cell culture applications.
    • Good knowledge and experience working with microorganisms and cell culture.
    • Experience using image analysis software and strong programming skills (Matlab, Python or JAVA).
    • Excellent English writing and communication skills.
    • Skills in materials characterization, electron microscopy, mathematical modelling and laboratory animal manipulation will be an advantage.
