What the role is

  • Family Policy Office (FPO) formulate and review policies that promote and strengthen families, as well as conducts family research to drive and inform evidencebased policies and programmes

What you will be working on

  • You will work with other stakeholders in the Government to conduct research, formulate and review policies.

Responsibilities:


  • Study emerging trends and assess its impact on families;
  • Understand Singaporeans' attitudes and beliefs about the institution of family;
  • Develop and execute engagement plans with community stakeholders to build networks and trust, and gain a better understand of different views towards the institution of family;
  • Continually assess and shape the definition and perception of family in Singapore, while accounting for demographic trends and evolving social norms;
  • Conduct robust research and analysis, and engage stakeholders to understand and strengthen the ecosystem of family support services and programmes;
  • Formulate effective policies and programmes, with other agencies to address potential gaps that support various types of families; and
  • Review legislation to ensure it remains relevant in supporting our policies and programmes.

What we are looking for

  • Competencies required
  • Tertiary qualification
  • 35 years of working experience
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking, writing and communication skills
  • Ability to analyse issues from a strategic perspective, while having a good grasp of details and processes
  • Strong problemsolving skills
  • Good stakeholder engagement and management skills
  • Ability to work well independently and in teams
  • Driven and proactive, able to lead projects independently
  • Ability to interact with, engage and collaborate with stakeholders to achieve a common goal
