[What the role is]


The ISEAS - Yusof Ishak Institute is a leading research centre dedicated to the study of socio-political, security and economic trends and developments in Southeast Asia and its wider geostrategic and economic development.


Applications are invited for the following positions:
Manager/Assistant Director, Human Resource Management (2-Year Contract)

[What you will be working on]


As part of the HR team, you will work with senior management, divisional directors, and programme coordinators to develop and implement total HR solutions to achieve organisational, operational and people excellence.


You will play a strategic and hands-on role in conceptualising, developing, and implementing evidence-based programmes and initiatives to promote an inclusive and thriving workplace culture.


You will support the team in the full suite of HR management and development functions and employee life cycle activities.


Job Responsibilities:
Commitment, Teamwork, and Collaboration (55%)

  • Develop and implement evidencebased initiatives and plans to strengthen commitment of individual staff toward ISEAS, foster teamwork within units, and promote collaboration among different units
  • In developing these, to engage line Divisions and Programmes to cocreate solutions and interventions
  • Conduct analysis using HR data from multiple sources and platforms to glean insights on employees' commitment and retention to the organisation, teamwork, and collaboration
  • Conduct regular evaluation of the effectiveness of such initiatives and plans, recommend changes/refinements, and provide progress updates to management
HR Management & Development (45%)

  • Manage the employee life cycle, including endtoend recruitment, onboarding/exit management, employee wellbeing and leave and benefits administration
  • Manage contingent workforce and visiting fellowships to augment the Institute's workforce
  • Support the development of talent pipeline through internships, scholarships and associate fellowships
  • Support the identification, establishment, analysis of key HR metrics and collation of critical statistics for reporting and dashboarding
  • Participate in projects to improve HR processes through automation and digitalisation
