Francesca Failla

I am a Molecular Biologist with nearly 3 years of experience in the IVD medical devices field. During my employment, I developed a strong passion for ART technologies, which inspired me to pursue a one-year short specialization degree in Assisted Reproductive Technologies and Reproductive Sciences. Now, I am eager to pursue a career in this field and become an Embryologist, to make a meaningful difference in people's lives through my work in assisted reproductive technologies.

Nearly 3 years of experience in the field of development and manufacturing of IVD (In
Vitro Diagnostic) devices, the field of Genetics, Infectious diseases and Assisted
Reproductive Technologies (ART).
Thanks to my dedication and passion for the subject matter, after my temporary period as
Lab technician, I was hired as a researcher, gaining new tasks and responsibilities. Main
responsibilities include:
o Junior Researcher, Apr 2021 - Mar 2023
- research support for experiments and kits validation, wet lab operations
- reporting and archiving of data/quality documentation
- laboratory management: cleaning and maintenance of lab equipment, troubleshooting, stocks monitoring, inventory
- biological sample handling and processing, data collection, reporting
- technical document redaction and updating (SOP, manuals, Data Sheets..)
o Molecular Biology Lab Technician, Sept 2020 - Mar 2021
- perform Molecular Biology kits manufacturing according to SOP
- preparation of buffers, media, probes and primers, samples for QC
- laboratory testing for raw materials, in-process and finished products
- use of liquid handlers and other automated equipment
- maintain documentation and record-keeping for all processes performed
