Jia Jing Lim

As a final-year Psychology student at the University of Edinburgh, I am driven by a deep fascination with clinical and developmental psychology, particularly in the cutting-edge field of Integrative therapy.
Through my experiences with the Ministry of Social and Family Development and Riding for the Disabled Association, I have learned the importance of being adaptable and flexible in therapy, as no two cases are exactly the same.
My passion for different types of therapies, combined with my strong interpersonal and active listening skills and my ability to conduct policy research and analyze data, make me an asset to any team. I am eager to continue learning and growing in the field of psychology and make a positive impact on those around me.

I have gained valuable experience through various internships and volunteer work. During my internship at Rainbow Centre, I had the privilege of working with children with disabilities, providing behavioural interventions and helping to enhance their general functioning. I was able to collaborate with a team of professionals to implement treatment plans, as well as gain insight into the challenges faced by individuals with disabilities and their families. Furthermore, at the National Health Services Children’s Hospital in Edinburgh, I volunteered with children and their parents, offering guidance and support to help them develop their social and emotional skills. Through this experience, I gained a deeper understanding of the importance of early intervention and the positive impact it can have on children's overall well-being. Additionally, while employed by the Ministry of Social and Family Development, I had the opportunity to evaluate children with disabilities and work with child protective services to create successful treatment plans. 

 I am a final-year Psychology student at the University of Edinburgh. Through my coursework and practical experience, I have developed a solid foundation in psychological theories and therapy techniques.
