Rachel Koh

I am a Singapore-based Fashion Designer who graduated with a Bachelors in Honours degree in University of Portsmouth, majoring in Fashion and Textile Design. 

I grew up watching Fashion Shows and always dream of being in the Fashion Industry since I was little. Other than Fashion, I am also very passionate about the planet, thus all my designs are inspired by nature. Through my experiences in school, I’ve learnt how to draft, sew and design Apparel Wear. Outside of school, I am also actively involve in events that requires me to lead, plan and execute them with a bunch of youths. I am also a creative individual who loves to problem solve and to step out of my comfort zone. 

As a young and aspiring Fashion Designer, I love to be able to create designs that not just inspire others but also, tell a story through my creations. I love to learn new skills and gain new experiences along the way.

Outside of school, I am also running major events that require me to lead a team of people to plan, execute and manage the aesthetics, operations and logistics of many projects at once. Through these opportunities, I have learned how to communicate, manage and also grow in my problem solving skills. For 2 years, I have helped to manage the online sales of in house merchandise for a conference and communicate between overseas suppliers in ensuring that the process from the sample to the actual product production is smooth.

My last internship at a local start up called Re.Store SG provided me with an opportunity to gain experience in content creation and in production. I helped to create their social media and video contents, helped in their sampling process by drawing up patterns for their seamstresses and also helped to do other operational stuff.

 I have recently graduated with a Bachelor Degree with Honours in Fashion and Textile Design at MDIS (Management Development Institute of Singapore) in partnership with University of Portsmouth, United Kingdom. As a fresh, young and aspiring fashion graduate, I was excited to come across the job ad you posted for the Product Designer position here at prettyFIT.

As a fashion student that was in a 3 years course, I am good at being hands on and managing projects with tight deadlines. Through my learning experience in school, I am equipped with many technical skills such as sewing, drafting and designing on both Illustrator and Photoshop. I was also given opportunities to work with local brands, where I have to design different apparels to suit their customers' needs.
