About 30 years of consolidated on-board and on-shore experience with well reputed ship management organizations like, Univan, Fleet ship, Thome & Rickmers working my way up to the level of VP Fleet Management/Fleet Manager and efficiently managing a fleet size of up to 25 vessels comprising of container ships and ROROs

Exposure of working with various nationalities people from diverse cultural and social backgrounds viz. Philippines, East Europeans, Indians, Myanmar, SE Asians, EU, British and Americans in a fast-paced and demanding shipping environment.

Executed numerous complex projects successfully viz. vessel’s dry dockings, special surveys, conversion of a Aframax vessel to FPSO and retrofit projects like fuel efficient propellers and bulbous bow design, DWT increase, BWTS, scrubber systems. Boilers, VFD for Electric Motors etc.

I can effectively lead, train and coach ship board as well as shore-based teams.

Sound technical knowledge including new generation ship engines and systems operation, troubleshooting, repairs, and maintenance is one of my key strengths

Since June 2018 employed as the Technical Head for a well-established ship services company in Singapore which has further augmented my resourcefulness, commercial insight and versality to add an exceptional value in the ship management field.

I have experience in managing a team of up to 5 technical superintendents, one marine superintendent, two purchasers and one technical assistant, one accounts executive. 

In my current I am managing a workforce of 38 consisting of project managers, naval architect, engineers, operation managers and other skilled technicians.

I would describe my management style as visionary by setting clear goals, outlining a strategic plan for achieving those goals. Delegating and managing the plan at the organizational, team and individual levels followed by periodical review of the KPIs.

Have conducted several pre-purchase vessel inspections, H & M damage surveys, takeover & hand over experience newbuild as well as change of management incl. PMS and budget set up. Planned and executed successfully dry dockings plus repairs of over 30 different vessels including special surveys involving extensive steel renewal, coatings, and repairs. 

Also, successfully completed the phase one conversion project of an Afra Max into FPSO, including full blast and recoating of all the cargo tanks. Another distinct feat accomplished was execution of the major Energy Efficiency Retrofit Project of a fleet of eight 13100 TEU box ships in China comprising of new design bulbous bow retrofit, propeller replacement to improved design, engine derating, HPS paint on the hull, VFD for big electric motors, WHR boiler installation for the Aux Engines, Draft increase, lashing bridges heights increment.

Member of company’s Energy Efficiency Core Team, active participation in implementation of various measures to optimize the energy efficiency on the fleet.
