Samantha Ng

A bubbly & willing-to-learn third year student Diploma in Health Management and Promotion (Republic Polytechnic). Samantha has a passion in working with children. She has valuable qualities such as language skills (O’level English B4, Chinese B3 & Higher Mother Tongue in Secondary school), passion for teaching, organization & planning, patience, love for young children, creativity & enthusiasm. She has relevant work experience in Special Needs Education in MINDS. Samantha taught the clients about Math & Numeracy (counting), organised Art sessions, Health & Physical Education, taught them about Activities of Daily Living such as brushing teeth with simple songs that helps the clients to absorb what was taught. With her diploma, she learned Psychology. She has two relevant experiences which include working with children in student care & special education.

Teacher (Student Care)

• Assist in children’s homework.
• Follow the centre timetable planned by the centre supervisor.
• Observe and monitor child’s progress in the centre and submit a monthly report of the children’s progress in the centre to the centre supervisor and parents.
• Plan daily activities that are appropriate and carry out the activities for the children.
• Impart positive social and moral values and enforce discipline in children at all times.
• Organize events/activities for the children during holidays.
• Preparation of in house materials for the Centres.
• Assist the Supervisor in the area of administration, supervision and maintenance of the centre’s activities.
• Undertake any other responsibilities as assigned by Supervisor/Management.
  
  Intern (MINDS - special education)

Diploma in Health Management & Promotion has taught modules such as Psychology, Physical Activities, Health, Nutrition and Mental Health. From this, I can apply what I learned to early childhood such as planning activities for children related to them. Psychology is important when working with children as this help me communicate & understand children better
