Shaun Ng

Hello, my name is Shaun Ng and I am currently pursuing a Degree in Economics in Singapore Management University (SMU) and a 2nd Major in Data Science &  Analytics. I have a keen interest in the Data and hope to advance further in the field. 

My previous working experience was as a Data Analytics Consulting Intern at NCS Pte Ltd where I was granted the opportunity to join the technical consultants and assisted in cases on the SAP ( Business Analytics ) platform. I have strong knowledge in Python, MySQL, Microsoft Excel and statistics that I believe will assist me in being an asset to any firm I am given the chance to join.

Data & Analytics Consultancy Intern at NCS Group (Aug 2022 – Nov 2022):

• Utilized Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint skills to create concise data analysis for client meetings on a weekly basis.
• Designed performance tracking and rubrics for the team in a Whole-of-Government project.
• Assisted in identifying root causes and implementing resolutions in the SAP system, resulting in a significant 60% reduction in cases.

Operations Team Lead at MOH Emergency Preparedness Response (EPR) Operations Cell (Mar 2020 – Jul 2020):

• Collaborated with various statutory boards as part of a joint task force to facilitate the transport of COVID patients.
• Planned and executed more than 50 patient conveyances per day using Microsoft Excel and Outlook capabilities.
• Conducted investigations into conveyance planning errors, compiling reports and findings for further improvement.

My experiences highlight my proficiency in using data analysis tools such as Microsoft Excel, as well as my ability to design performance metrics and track project progress. Moreover, your work in identifying and resolving issues showcases problem-solving skills and your involvement in high-impact projects, particularly during the COVID pandemic, demonstrates your adaptability and teamwork capabilities in critical situations.

During my time at Singapore Management University (SMU), pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Economics with a major in Data Science & Analytics (expected graduation: Dec 2024), I gained expertise in Spreadsheet Modelling & Analytics, Statistical Learning with R, Data Science with R, Introduction to Econometrics, Probability Theory & Applications, and Mathematics for Economics. I actively engaged in extracurriculars, enhancing leadership and communication skills as the President of SMU Caderas Latinas (Oct 2021 - Dec 2022) and serving as Training & Development Deputy at SMU Re-X (Jun 2021 - Dec 2022). Additionally, as a Research Analyst for SMU Economics Intelligence Club (Jan 2021 - Apr 2021), I contributed to publishing an online article for the South-East Asia & Oceania region. These experiences prepared me to excel in Data Science & Analytics.
