About the Department

Group Finance

Group Finance fulfils a dual role of governance and value-add in support of UOB's performance and strategic objectives. We are responsible for the financial, regulatory and performance reporting of UOB Group, and fulfilling our mandate as stewards of the Bank's resources by ensuring the right levels of controls and oversight over the use of the Bank's resources. At the same time, we support senior management and the businesses by providing insights into the performance of the Group and its businesses and geographies in order to support enhanced decision making over both the short and long term in order to achieve optimal and sustainable financial outcomes for our shareholders.

Financial Information Management (FIM), Group Finance

Financial Information Management (FIM) drives the strategic roadmap for the Bank's financial systems and partners with stakeholders and GTO Technology specialists to deliver solutions to support the growth of UOB. We aim to protect and enhance Group Finance value through optimizing the use of our systems and tools as we implement a controlled Finance architecture.

Job Responsibilities

As part of Financial Information Management team within Group Finance, your key responsibilities include:

Project Management:

Work closely with finance stakeholder and technology counterparts on Initiation, planning, executing, monitoring and closing out projects.

Functional Business Analyst:

Understand the technology and operational needs of Financial accounting and Financial reporting functions in the Bank.

Work with Finance users in gathering and analyze user requirement, identify opportunities for improvement and articulate business requirements into functional requirement for functional design document

Be a liaison person with Technology team providing end to end solutions that ensure users' needs are optimally met.

Perform impact assessment, review functional design against business requirement and ensure robustness of system design

Execute project implementation including meeting project key milestones, timeline and proactively manage and resolve issues

Review and support post implementation issues coming out from project implementation and come up with areas of improvement for delivery

UAT Tester / Coordinator:

Conduct User Acceptance Test and arrange with vendor (where relevant) to prepare necessary test environment and support functional testing

Job Requirements

Experience in banking industry relating to Financial Accounting, preferably SAP application system

At least 10-15 years working experience in SAP Project management and testing

Aptitude for system related work, experience in end-user maintenance, business requirements gathering, user acceptance testing and implementation of IT systems.

Have a good understanding of technology and operational needs in areas of Financial Accounting

Strong capability in process control and operational risk management

Good analytical and presentation skills, possesses drive and initiative, demonstrate effective leadership

Strong team player with effective communication and interpersonal skills.

Experience and confidence in dealing with various levels of management

Degree in Accounting / Finance/ Business or its equivalent professional certificates preferred
