Roles & Responsibilities

Classin is a leading educational technology company that offers an all-in-one online education platform. We provide innovative and interactive teaching solutions, enabling educators to deliver high-quality online classes to students worldwide. As we continue to grow, we are seeking a skilled and experienced Database Administrator to join our team in Singapore. The Database Administrator will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation, maintenance, and security of our company databases.

Responsibilities:

Monitor and Update Malware Protection:

Implement and maintain malware protection software to safeguard company databases against potential security breaches.
Regularly update malware protection software to ensure the latest security measures are in place.
Keep abreast of emerging threats and security vulnerabilities, taking proactive steps to mitigate risks.

Database Maintenance and Organization:

Oversee the day-to-day maintenance of company databases, ensuring optimum performance and efficiency.
Identify and resolve database issues, such as connectivity problems, data corruption, and performance bottlenecks.
Develop and implement strategies for data backup, recovery, and disaster planning to minimize data loss and downtime.
Organize databases in a logical and structured manner, making it easy for authorized individuals to access and locate important documents efficiently.

User Access Management:

Create and manage user accounts for authorized individuals to access databases.
Grant appropriate user privileges and permissions based on job roles and responsibilities.
Regularly review and update user access rights to maintain data confidentiality and integrity.
Assist users in troubleshooting access-related issues and provide necessary support.

Database Security:

Implement and enforce security policies, procedures, and best practices to protect the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of company databases.
Conduct regular security audits and vulnerability assessments to identify and address potential security risks.
Collaborate with the IT team to ensure database security is aligned with overall IT security policies and standards.
Stay updated with industry trends and best practices in database security to proactively address emerging threats.

Requirements:

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
Proven experience as a Database Administrator or similar role.
Strong knowledge of database management systems (e.g., MySQL, Oracle, SQL Server).
Familiarity with database security principles and best practices.
Proficient in SQL and database query optimization.
Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
Strong attention to detail and organizational abilities.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
