    Roles & Responsibilities

    Duration: 12 months (Renewable)
    Working Hours: 5 days
    Working Location: Ang Mo Kio/ Site

    As a Fiber Migration Specialist for LTA Rail Integrated Comms Project, you will lead all facets of fiber optic and communications cable migration within a rail environment, ensuring seamless integration with the Converged Broadband Network (CBN) operations. This strategic role requires close collaboration with the CBN team to synchronize fiber infrastructure upgrades with broader network enhancements.

    Roles and Responsibilities:

    • Develop and manage the comprehensive fiber migration plan, aligning closely with the CBN deployment strategies to ensure cohesive network enhancements.
    • Oversee the installation, testing, and commissioning of fiber optic cables along the trackside, ensuring compatibility and integration with CBN systems.
    • Design and manage routing for fiber optic and communications cables on the track, coordinating with the CBN team for system integration.
    • Collaborate with civil contractors and system-wide contractors for all site installation works, ensuring alignment with CBN deployment phases.
    • Liaise with relevant authorities and maintain communication on migration plans and progress, ensuring that fiber migration activities are aligned with CBN system upgrades.
    • Lead and manage the fiber migration team at station and depot sites, including subcontractors, coordinating closely with the CBN specialists to ensure that all technical and operational requirements are met.
    • Coordinate the planning and execution of site migration work with the site contractor, aligning these activities with the CBN integration timelines.
    • Review and approve method statements and risk assessments, ensuring that these documents meet the standards required for both fiber migration and CBN compatibility.
    • Develop a decommissioning plan for the existing FO and Comms systems at train stations, ensuring that the transition to the new system is synchronized with CBN system rollouts.

    Requirements:

    • Bachelor's degree in Telecommunications, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
    • Extensive experience with Huawei networking equipment, particularly the Optixtrans series, in a deployment capacity.
    • Prior experience in similar projects within the rail or transportation sector, with a proven track record in network configuration and migration.
    • Strong project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple facets of a deployment project under tight deadlines.
    • Excellent problem-solving abilities and adaptability to rapidly changing project requirements.
    • Effective communication skills, with the ability to facilitate collaboration across technical and operational teams.
