Our client's principal activities are to provide Clients with Full Turkey Project Management. This includes engineering, project management through the pre-construction planning, critical path development, construction / fabrication / site management, commissioning and hand over. It has executed a wide range of major projects involving Marine FPSO Conversion/Process Module Construction related to Oil and Gas Industry, Sub-Sea Products, Semi-Submersibles, Repair of Oil Rigs, Pharmaceutical Process Packages and Power Generation Facilities since its foundation in 1990. Job Description| YARD OPERATIONS MANAGER

Role

The Operations Manager in a shipyard is responsible for overseeing and managing all operational activities within the facility. This includes coordinating and supervising the production process, ensuring compliance with safety regulations, managing budgets and resources, and implementing strategies to improve efficiency and productivity. The Operations Manager also plays a crucial role in maintaining effective communication between different departments and ensuring that all projects are completed on time and within budget.

Responsibilities

Operation supporting areas:

i. Waste Management

ii. Logistic (Inventory Management & Logistic Coordination)

iii. Equipment Rental

iv. Workplace Safety

Oversee the organization and management of the yard space, ensuring efficient use of space and accessibility for vehicles and equipment.

Implement and enforce safety protocols and procedures to minimize risks and ensure compliance with regulatory standards.

Coordinate the scheduling, loading, and unloading of materials and products to optimize workflow and meet delivery timelines.

Manage inventory control, conducting regular checks to ensure accuracy and prevent loss or damage to goods and equipment.

Supervise yard staff, including hiring, training, and evaluating performance to ensure a competent and motivated team.

Liaise with suppliers and transportation companies to negotiate contracts and resolve any issues related to the delivery or condition of goods.

Develop and maintain a maintenance schedule for all yard equipment and vehicles, ensuring they are in good working condition and available when needed.

Handle customer inquiries and complaints related to yard operations, providing solutions that enhance customer satisfaction and loyalty.

Daily operation support (Forklift, trailer, Cometo, Housekeeping, Equipment Rental).

Monthly operation Cost Report (By project, Department).

Managing budgets and resources & provide Budget for project (Equipment Rental, Diesel Consumption).

Implementing quality control measures in a shipyard.

Implementing strategies to improve efficiency and productivity.

Responsible for managing a diverse team of employees and collaborating with various stakeholders.

Requirements

· Bachelor's Degree/ Diploma in Civil Engineering, or Construction Management discipline.

· At least 8 years of experience in Marine shipyard for large constructions projects.

· Minimum 7 years of work experience at a managerial level.

· Experienced in the quantification and valuation of works for claims is essential, together with sound knowledge of commercial processes such as contracts, subcontracting, tendering and procurement.

· Additionally, candidates should possess strong problem-solving abilities, the ability to work under pressure, and a keen eye for detail.

· Excellent leadership and communication skills are essential, as the Operations Manager will be responsible for managing a diverse team of employees and collaborating with various stakeholders.

· Excellent written and good communicative skills in Chinese/ Mandarin to communicate and interact with Chinese speaking stakeholders, vendors and Chinese workers from South East Asia.
