- The incumbent plays an important role in providing input on the development and implementation of OIG management policy and programs, organization of agency management issues for the attention of the Inspector General, Deputy Inspector General, and coordination with OIG senior leaders. Serves as the Senior Management Officer of the OIG. Directly assists the AIG-M with instituting and recommending key policy and administrative decisions. Makes recommendations and drafts on policies, interprets new policies and determines how they will be implemented. Resolves challenges for new policies and initiatives to achieve efficiency across the IG community. Advises the IG on the direction for each OIG policy.
- In association with the AIG-M, provides strategic leadership, vision, planning, administration and evaluation of all aspects of policy and operations in connection with personnel actions, budgeting and expenditures, information and technology, travel, strategic vision and other administrative matters for the OIG.
- Oversees all phases of the budget process to include funds management and execution, appropriations process, funds procurement for procurement, and travel.
- Develops and maintains collaborative relationships with key EXIM OIG staff and stakeholders. Under instructions from the Assistant Inspector General for Management, authorizes and approves, as necessary, travel, department restructurings, personnel actions, expenditures, and other budgeting and human resource matters for OIG staff.
- Maintains the office and attends meetings in the absence of the AIG-M. Participates and leads in groups and teams; conducting briefings and other meetings; establishes and maintains working relationships with internal organizational units (., other program areas and staff support functions).
- Ensures reports, memoranda, and other documents reflect the position and work of the organization in a clear, convincing, and organized manner.
- Provides assessment on current and future staffing needs based on organizational goals and budget realities. Applies merit principles to develop, select, and manage a diverse workforce.
